tree lighting on the circle downtown is apparently a big deal. not only were there thousands of people, but bands performing, fireworks and even santa!!!

ginkgo paint

ginkgo leaves are my favorite. growing up we had a set of children’s encyclopedias that had a “choose your own adventure” by matching the correct leaf to tree and berry and nut. never having seen one, the ginkgo leaves seemed so exotic to me. even though indianapolis is full of ginkgoes, i’m still captured by their uniqueness, especially when their leaves paint the ground yellow.

i turned around on my bike today as to not miss this site. as i was photographing, three girls asked me to take their picture. here you are ladies! :)

yesterday we stocked up for thanksgiving at the market. a warehouse space full of people and vegetables and good food and children gives me so much hope.

life with the goose

i work at a pretty incredible place called goose the market. it’s a specialty food and wine market, focused a lot on meats. i like to say i work at a charcuterie because it makes me feel like i’m living a bit closer to a french existence. within my first month the heneveld was one of the featured sandwiches. mmmm…

a few weeks ago we celebrated the third birthday of the goose by having a progressive dinner. it was a great time and of course, the food was incredible. i wasn’t able to take as many photos as i hoped, but here are a few.
